Being a Rock Guitar Band Hero

So I dropped many videogames I've been talking about (you know, like Castlevania) because, well, that's old school. I moved into something more modern and, therefore, more popular.

Activision has coined this genre of videogames in a great fashion. The first time I played Guitar Hero I just marveled at the endless possibilities of such a game: you could learn songs, sing songs, play songs, cooperate (or compete) with others, learn the history of some songs, and to some extent virtually become a rockstar.

RockBand is no exception. Although Harmonix kinda copied the idea, I suppose they came up with the rest of the instruments in the band, hence the name. Besides, RockBand seems to casually focus on certain bands, a move that was totally accepted when they thought of "The Beatles".

So far, out of A LOT (keep in mind that I almost never count stuff) of songs I have played, here's my small list of Top Guitar Hero/Rockband songs:
  • Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi (Bass): Has some killer bass strums in the intro. The song itslef isn't shabby either.
  • Everlong - Foo Fighters (Guitar/Bass):  It may be the same notes throughout most of the song, even for both instruments, but try it on Hard, see if you don't get a bit hyped.
  • The End - The Beatles (Guitar/Drums): One heck of a drum solo. Nuff said.
  • Bleed American - Jimmy Eat World (Guitar): Same as above, but this one already got me on the edge of my seat on the Easy difficulty: I mean that even at three frets this song is a challenge.
  • B.Y.O.B. - System Of A Down (Guitar): Just like in Bleed American, this song was hard enough on Easy mode, but it was because of how it sometimes goes off-tempo.
  • Bring Me To Life - Evanescence (Guitar): Weird as it sounds, the guitar plays the piano parts at the intro and outro of the song. But I still like that.
  • Chop Suey - System Of A Down (Guitar/Vocals): This song was the first I sang. The guitar was also a good component at the beginning when it changed from acoustic to shredding metal.
  • Kryptonite - 3 Doors Down (Guitar):  The same chords throughout the WHOLE song, and I still got 89% after five tries.
  • Eight Days A Week - The Beatles (Guitar): It's such a nice song that when I played it for the first time I was inspired. I wanted to play it over and over again.
  • Beat It - Michael Jackson (Guitar): I kinda laughed at how easy this was at first, but I still liked the song's intro sequence. RIP
I like how not all of the songs in the Guitar Hero series are rock, but country, pop, and ballad music can be found, listened to, and played as well.

But since this junkpile of a PC has its RAM over the head with internet and other games, I can't have even half of a Guitar Hero. I could, however, install "Frets on Fire".

It's not as good-looking, it has no such thing as Star Power, and there's no actual instrument: you play with the keyboard.

Like this, but with the keyboard plugged in...

At first I thought this was going to be uncomfortably heavy, but you just get used to it. Well, if you don't you can still use the button change settings in-game. Or out-game:

This guy's either a veteran, old-school guitarist or an excessively demanding player.

Not to worry: I like this one because it lets you import OTHER songs you want to play (Heck, I even included the One-Winged Angel theme from Final Fantasy) and even CREATE YOUR OWN SONGS!!

Here's the link for those whose computer shares my same fate, although I think yours is better than mine. At least you didn't lend your computer to a software-tester.
