A Little Bit of Everything

Well, I'm still counting down to September 15th, and I just got some new info on my newly-acquired position in the school marching band:

• I'll be the first boy in the history of the school ever to play a glockenspiel in the band
• The two Mother Glockenspiels (me and another girl) will be centered in front of the other eight standard glockenspiels
• We'll all be between the four toms and the two triple-drums
• The newbie drummers will play alongside the Pre-K students in the 14th while we (by "we" I mean "the good ones") will play on the very 15th, taking the whole school with us
• The other girl who's playing Mother Glockenspiel (her name, by the way, is Marissela) said she and I were being spoiled, what with the getting special instruments for our exclusive use (what would YOU think?)

There one thing about the members of the band, though: even as the whole group of drummers and tom players are men, I find myself inevitably surrounded by women and girls.

Not that the drummers themselves are --well, you get the picture-- but you also need to take the cymbals, baton dancers and cheerleaders into account. And they know me. And I know [a few of] them.

I can see where this is going...

Oh, one little detail:

I BROKE UP

Why? She was too shy even to LOOK at me, and I don't like that. I mean, seriously, would you ever accept as a girlfriend someone who can't stand to look at you without her face turning blood-red?? Personally, I think that's a bit silly.
